THANK YOU!!!!

Bud comes home this weekend and we are all so excited for him!! Here he is doing some therapy with all 5 kids. We love you BUD!!

The update- Bud is coming home this weekend and will finally be done with the hospital scene. He will start outpatient therapy at Neuroworks very soon to continue the recovery process. Bud will be coming home to a different house as well. We have found a new house that will be perfect for wheelchair accessibility in our same neighborhood just a few blocks away (also within our ward boundaries). That means our current house is on the market and will hopefully sell soon. Bud is thrilled to be with his family and we are all so grateful for everything everyone has been doing to help out.

THE THANK YOU'S!!!! Where do we even begin? We have so many people to thank!!

THE MEALS.....thank you thank you thank you to everyone who has been bringing our family meals for the last 2 months. They truly have been so great since cooking really is the last thing we have time for with everything going on. People have been so kind and generous bringing us delicious meals and it has helped so much...more than you will ever know!! THANK YOU!!

THE VISITS...We are so grateful, Bud especially, for all of the visits in the hospital. Everyone has been so sweet to come and visit, bringing him goodies, movies, etc...he really feels so blessed and can't thank everyone enough for coming to visit him while he was in hospital. Also, the visits to our family, the playdates with our kids etc...we truly have seen such an outpouring of love from so many people. Thank you so much....as this has meant so much to our kids.

Each company has significantly helped in time, support and resources. We are so grateful and encouraged by the many compassionate people we continue to come across. Thank you for helping to get us into our home and also with the help of our Dad. Our lives have benefited in so many ways because of your kindness. We also want to extend a special thanks to Diane Whittaker, Mary Young, Kim Burt and Doug Swensen who have put in many hours to help orchestrate this unbelievable symphony in our lives.

THE HELP AT THE OLD HOUSE....Thank you to everyone who helped clean our house, our yard, throw out old stuff, clearing out our garage and helping to get the house ready to be shown. Keeping the house clean with 5 kids is a task already, so everyone's help has been greatly appreciated!!!

Here are some pics of the volunteers who helped with our yard! Thanks again!

Here is a pic of one of our twins, Kate eating the volunteer's donuts....

We truly are blessed to have so many wonderful people in our lives. Between family and friends, we can't thank you all enough!! Please know how much your help is appreciated by all of the Larson family!!

A few people said they were having troubles with the video, so i used a different source. If that still is problematic...use this link (either click on link to the right or cut and paste into browser).

We thought that the words of this song were perfect and decided to throw in some pictures too! We hope you like it (take note that hopefully many pictures fit with actually what the words are talking about). We are praying for you and hope that everyone just "keeps holding on."

ps...it takes a few minutes to download. but it's worth it.

What happened?

Several people have been asking and wondering what happened to Bud so this is an attempt to answer some questions for all those who love him so dearly.
This past weekend Bud was in a snow mobiling accident. Several hours later he was life flighted to the hospital where he was diagnosed with broken ribs and a broken back and some bruising in his spinal chord. He received a major surgery on his back earlier this week and doctors say that it was a successful surgery, all went as planned. As of right now, his injuries have left him with no feeling in his legs but we are still hopeful and prayerful that as time will pass, his body will have a chance to heal. We all know Bud is a fighter and he never ceases to amaze us so we will hope for the best. Already, within this tragedy, it seems there have been several small miracles and we will continue to pray for more in behalf of Bud, Alyssa, and their family.

Article on Healing by Elder Oaks

Chris found a really neat article by Elder Oaks titled "He Heals the Heavy Laden." Here are some gems within it and the link.

http://lds.org/portal/site/LDSOrg/menuitem.b12f9d18fae655bb69095bd3e44916a0/?vgnextoid=f318118dd536c010VgnVCM1000004d82620aRCRD&locale=0&sourceId=f92888f17feae010VgnVCM100000176f620a____&hideNav=1

Healing blessings come in many ways, each suited to our individual needs, as known to Him who loves us best. Sometimes a “healing” cures our illness or lifts our burden. But sometimes we are “healed” by being given strength or understanding or patience to bear the burdens placed upon us.
At times we may despair that our burdens are too great. When it seems that a tempest is raging in our lives, we may feel abandoned and cry out like the disciples in the storm, “Master, carest thou not that we perish?” (Mark 4:38). At such times we should remember His reply: “Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?” (v. 40).
The healing power of the Lord Jesus Christ—whether it removes our burdens or strengthens us to endure and live with them like the Apostle Paul—is available for every affliction in mortality.

Using This Blog

This blog will be a place mostly for updates on how we all can help out Bud and his family during this time of transition. Mary Young is the point person and will be running the blog. We hope it will be a place where she can post needs and schedules and such and those who are willing and asked to help can get important information. Mary will be the only one actually posting, but all questions or comments about posts can be done through the "comments" section at the end of each post. More specific questions can be directed to her through her contact information listed at the top of the blog.

Once again, thanks everyone for your willingness to help on such an important matter. We know how much Bud and the Larsons have touched all of our lives and now is a chance to give back...and every type of help is accepted and appreciated, no matter how big or small.
